Event Overview

The 1st National Day on Phytonutrients, Nutraceuticals, Functional Foods and Health (NDPNFFH'25) will focus on specific areas of scientific research, with an emphasis on the relationship between substances of natural origin and human health.

The increasing prevalence of sedentary lifestyles in urban environments, combined with exposure to xenobiotic and poor dietary habits, has significantly influenced human health. These factors have contributed to a sharp rise in various diseases and disorders over the past decade.

These challenges call for urgent scientific discussion and innovation to develop sustainable, natural alternatives capable of addressing them effectively. This evolving demand highlights the need to develop innovative, appealing food products that cater to a diverse, active, and health-conscious population.

Key Objectives

  • Enhance natural biomolecules usage

In human and animal nutrition and therapy, aiming to formulate functional foods that can prevent or even treat certain physiological and metabolic conditions

  • Leverage Algerian research

Propose strategies for leveraging the research findings of Algerian scientists in the domain of food security

  • Promote collaboration

Foster collaboration between research institutions and industry professionals, fostering the emergence of new research pathways

  • Strategic healthcare approach

Contribute to the development of a strategic approach that addresses current organizational challenges while advancing research initiatives focused on effective management, prevention, and healthcare solutions

Key Topics & Focus Areas

Nutraceuticals and functional foods

Comprehensive exploration of nutraceuticals and functional foods of plant, animal and microbial origin and their impact on health and wellness.

Plant biomolecules identification

Identification, extraction and use of plant biomolecules with nutraceutical and therapeutic potential for innovative health solutions.

Processing technologies

Advanced technologies for processing, formulating and adding value to nutraceuticals and functional foods for enhanced efficacy.
